EXCELLENCE FOR SCHOLARSHIP

My scholarly activities encompass a range of responsibilities and achievements, demonstrating my commitment to advancing dental education and practice. I have been involved in various academic and research endeavors, including publishing extensively and securing three patents (Evidence 1).

These patents represent my dedication to innovation, directly impacting patient care by introducing new methods and technologies that enhance treatment outcomes (Saheb and Saheb, 2020). These innovations are critical for advancing the field, ensuring that patient care evolves with evidence-based improvements.

I have successfully secured six research grants as a principal investigator and co-investigator (Evidence 2), allowing me to lead and collaborate on impactful research projects. These grants have facilitated collaborative efforts, expanding my capacity to contribute to the body of knowledge while honing my skills in project management and leadership. By engaging in these research activities, I aim to address key clinical questions and improve patient outcomes, demonstrating the value of collaborative research in driving advancements in dental and medical fields. My work has not only expanded scientific understanding but also provided residents and colleagues with valuable research opportunities. I have published about 50-articles in peer review journals (Evidence 3).

In the domain of medical education (Evidence 3), I have tried to explore the current status of both under- and post-graduate dental education. I have also recommended different solutions in dental education eg. comprehensive dental education, introducing post-graduate training in maxillofacial prosthetics, streamline meritorious selection in post-graduate education. My recent submission is on the “Introduction of Geriatric Dentistry” in undergraduate education. Acknowledging the “Artificial Intellegience” in everyday life I have been exploring it in medical education. I have used Large Language Model (LLM) in patient education. Currently, I am using trained-LLM in post-graduate journal club, using the similar model in developing high quality MCQ. Considering the importance of research in health care profession, have explored the intension and common hurdles faced by undergraduate dental student to conduct or participate in resarch.

I am honored to be frequently invited to speak at conferences and serve on boards of studies at multiple universities. I actively participate in the peer review process for national and international journals, departmental research proposals, and grant evaluations.

These roles validate my expertise and commitment to maintaining high standards within the profession. Engaging with peers and providing critical feedback helps shape the direction of ongoing research and academic discourse. These engagements reflect my recognition as a scholar and contribute to the profession by fostering a culture of rigorous academic inquiry.

As the founding Programme Director of the Prosthodontic Residency, I am responsible for designing and managing the training curriculum for future prosthodontists. By incorporating cutting-edge teaching methodologies and actively mentoring residents, I ensure a comprehensive and impactful learning experience. My leadership in curriculum development and resident mentorship directly influences the quality of prosthodontic education, preparing graduates to excel in clinical practice and research (Grady et al., 2012). My efforts have helped produce competent prosthodontists who contribute significantly to the profession, enhancing both patient care and academic excellence. One of my article has been selected for journal club in USA (Evidence 4).

I actively involve residents in scholarly activities, including research projects, article writing, conference presentations, and teaching. This engagement develops their core competencies and prepares them for future academic and clinical roles (Toklu and Fuller, 2017). **Why:** Globally, there is a growing emphasis on integrating residents into scholarly activities as it promotes critical thinking, research skills, and professional development (Geyer et al., 2015). This approach not only strengthens the residents’ academic foundation but also instills a culture of continuous learning and contribution to the field.

My scholarly pursuits go beyond traditional research and publications; they encompass leadership, innovation, mentorship, and active engagement with the broader academic community. Through these diverse contributions, I am committed to advancing the field of prosthodontics and inspiring others to pursue excellence in their professional journeys. I look forward to continuing my work in shaping future professionals and making meaningful contributions to dental education and patient care.
